Karl & Linda Johnson
Many of you know either Karl or Linda.
If you are fortunate enough to call them your friends,
you really know what friends are!
I know Linda as Linda Barnett-Johnson
and I know her very well.
Though we have worked together on Long Story Short
for 6 years, we have never met!
And yet, she seems like my sister!
I have never known a more honest, kind, thoughtful,
decent person in my life.
Linda and Karl have undertaken the difficult task of raising their
grandchildren, ranging in age from infants to grade schoolers,
because family circumstances demand their help.
Linda has not worked outside the home in order to care for them.
Their income has been directed toward helping their family and
sadly, they have been unable to afford health insurance.
Now, they have learned that Karl has cancer and must
undergo surgery, chemo and possibly radiation therapy.
No one deserves help more than they, who have given selflessly to
others at home, in their small Montana town of Lewistown and at their
church, where they are active Christians. Linda has been a
huge and helpful presence in the online world of writers.
So, we have decided to take it upon ourselves to help them
with this fundraiser.
After you finish your trip to Paris,
please stop by the donation page and give what you can
to help Karl and Linda beat this terrible disease.
